Anne, dearly beloved wife and best friend of Kevin, adored Mum of Marese, Bernard and Karen, and loving grandmother of Ben, Emily, Isabelle and Luke; sadly and lovingly missed by her family, daughter-in-law Mari, son-in-law Phil, her brothers Larry and Bernard, sisters-in-law Mary and Marilyn, best friend Gay, all her nieces and nephews extended family and many friends.

John Maguire, Sandyford, Dublin / Rathowen, Co. Westmeath. Peacefully, at home in the loving arms of his beloved wife Geraldine, after a short illness, Motor Neuron Disease, bravely borne. Predeceased by his cherished son Shane, his father Bartholomew and sister Teresa.

John will be forever loved and deeply missed by his devoted wife Geraldine, adored daughter Serena and son in law Mark, loving Mother Margaret, treasured Grace, Dylan and Ruby, Sean, Ella and their mum Louise, his brothers Bart, Kevin and Dermot, sisters Margaret, Caroline and Valerie, extended family, neighbours and wide circle of friends.

John’s kind heart, quiet strength and intellectual brilliance will be fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him. A true Gentleman.

Respected in life, lamented in death.

Reposing at his home on Saturday 30th August 2025 from 5pm until Sunday 31st August at 8pm. Funeral Mass will be held in St. Mary’s Church, Sandyford Village (D18 E5R8), on Monday 1st September at 11am, followed by burial in Kilternan Cemetery Park (D18 X22C).

Connolly, Dr. Michael (Rhode, Co. Offaly and late of Clonskeagh, Dun Laoghaire, Dalkey, Rathmichael and Canada). Passed away peacefully, 25th August 2025 (unexpectedly) in Mullingar General Hospital, following a sudden illness. Predeceased by his beloved parents Mary (2003) and James Gerard “Gerry” (1993), his brother Anthony (2023) and his infant sister Elizabeth.

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his devoted wife Imelda, his children Stephen (with Louise), Ronan (with Aline), Orla (with Stephen), and Leona (with Colm), his cherished grandchildren Dylan, Nicholas, Max, Art, Nessa and baby Cuan, his siblings Maura, James Gerard, Catherine and Siobhán, extended family, neighbours and a wide circle of friends.

A devoted teacher and builder of ideas, Michael taught Mathematics and Science at Sandymount High School in the 1970s. Together with his wife Imelda, he built and established The National Aquarium in Bray, Co. Wicklow. Having earned many qualifications including a PhD, he also published widely across several scientific disciplines.

Murphy, William (Willser), Finglas East, formerly of Hardwick St. Flats, late of C.I.E.  Phibsboro Garage. 23rd August 2025. Passed away peacefully in the Mater Hospital.

William will be very sadly missed by his loving wife Esther, sons Stephen and Brian, daughter Louise, grandson Lincoln, daughter-in-law, Janice, brothers, sisters, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law. Nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Barnes, Derval – 23rd August 2025 – (Formerly of Rathfarnham and Dundrum). Unexpectedly but peacefully in the wonderful care of Beaumont Hospital, surrounded by her heartbroken family.

Derval will be forever loved and sadly missed by her fiancé Les Comiskey, her brothers Douglas and Lorcan and predeceased by her parents Katherine and Sean and her sister Lorraine. She will be fondly remembered by her brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces Grace, Helen and nephew Noel, extended family and many wonderful friends.

Derval will repose in Massey Bros. Funeral Home, Goatstown, D14 X308 on Tuesday 26th August 2025 from 5pm – 7pm. Her Funeral Mass will be held in the Church of the Good Shepherd, Churchtown on Wednesday 27th at 10am, followed by cremation in Mount Jerome, Harold’s Cross (The Garden Chapel).
