Predeceased by her recently loved husband Séamus and son Paul. Beloved mother to Sharon, Sinéad and James. Professor Christopher Whelan, Stillorgan. Emeritus Professor of Sociology UCD, previously Research Professor, Economic and Social Research Institute. Member of the Royal Irish Academy. Peacefully in the loving care of the nursing staff of the 6th floor of the Beacon Hospital. Beloved husband and soulmate of Yvonne, dearly loved father of Alan and Karl. Lovingly remembered by his daughters-in-law, Martina, Maura and Suzanne and his adored grandchildren, Jessica, Abby, Ellie and Cillian.

Edward (Ned) Simmons
Simmons Edward (Ned) Milltown, Dublin 6, formerly Highfield Road, Rathgar. On 3rd September 2022. Ned passed away peacefully at Peamount Hospital, with his family by his side. He will be hugely missed by his ever-loving wife Rosemarie, his beloved son Robert and adored daughter Sarah, his step-children Caroline and June, his daughter-in-law Naoise and his most precious grandchildren Ross, Sophia and Mia. Pre-deceased recently by his sister Joy.
