Responsorial Psalms

Responsorial Psalm 22

Response: The Lord is my shepherd, there is nothing I shall want

The Lord is my shepherd; there is nothing I shall want.
Fresh and green are the pastures where he gives me repose.
Near restful waters he leads me, to revive my drooping spirit. R

He guides me along the right path; he is true to his name.
If I should walk in the valley of darkness no evil would I fear.
You are there with your crook and your staff; with these you give me comfort. R

You have prepared a banquet for me in the sight of my foes.
My head you have anointed with oil; my cup is overflowing. R

Surely goodness and kindness shall follow me all the days of my life. In the Lord’s own house shall I dwell for ever and ever. R

Responsorial Psalm 26

Response: The Lord is my light and my help.

The Lord is my light and my help; whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be shrink? R

There is one thing I ask of the Lord, for this I long; to live in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to saviour the sweetness of the Lord, to behold His temple. R

I am sure I shall see the Lord’s goodness in the land of the living. Hope in him, hold firm and take heart,
Hope in the Lord. R

Responsorial Psalm 102

Response: The Lord is compassion and love.

The Lord is compassion and love, slow to anger and rich in mercy. He does not treat us according to our sins for repay us according to our faults. R

As a father has compassion on his children, the Lord has pity of those who fear him; for he knows of what we are made, he remembers that we are dust. R

As for man, his days are like grass; he flowers like the flower of the field; the wind blows and he is gone and his place never sees him again. R

But the love of the Lord is everlasting upon those who fear him; His justice reaches out to children’s children when they keep his covenant in truth. R

Responsorial Psalm 41

Response: My soul is thirsting for God, the God of my life.

Like the eer that yearns for running streams,
so my soul is yearning for you, my God. R

My soul is thirsting for God, the God of my life;
when can I enter and see the face of God? R

O send forth your light and your truth; let these be my guide.
Let them bring me to your holy mountain, to the place where you dwell. R

And I will come to the altar of God, the God of my joy.
My redeemer, I will thank you on the harp, O God, my God. R

Responsorial Psalm 62

Response: For you my soul is thirsting, O Lord, my God.

O God, you are my God, for you I long: for you my soul is thirsting. My body pines for you like a dry, weary land without water. R

So I gaze on you in the sanctuary to see your strength and your glory. For your love is better than life, my lips shall speak your praise. R

So I will bless you all my life, in your name I will lift up my hands. My soul shall be filled as with a banquet, my soul shall praise you with joy. R

You have been my help; in the shadow of your wings I rejoice. My soul clings to you; your right hand holds me fast. R
