Brendan Ferguson - Late of Blackrock, Co. Dublin, formerly Ballinaglera, Co. Leitrim, passed away peacefully on 5th May 2026 at St. Vincent’s University Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his parents Annie (Reynolds) and Pappy (Patrick) Ferguson and his infant twin brother Kevin.
Brendan will be greatly missed by his sisters Maureen, Bridie, Bernadette, Patricia and Jacqueline, brothers, Charlie, Padraic, Joe and Michael, brothers-in-law Brendan, Robert and Gerry, sisters-in-law Anne, Annette and Marie, nephews and nieces, grand-nieces and grand-nephews, extended family, friends, colleagues and neighbours.

Beloved wife and best friend of Christopher Hone, and devoted mother to Timothy. Deeply regretted by Christopher, Timothy and his daughter in law Sarah, her brothers Gerard, Vincent and Raymond, her sisters Caroline, Florence and Clare, nephews and nieces, extended family, neighbours, and her many friends and colleagues around the world.
Mary dedicated her life to helping others through her work in international development and will be remembered for her kindness, wisdom, generosity and warmth, as well as for her love of travel, gardening and family.

John Hunter McCarthy, (Dublin 8, Dublin 12 and Canada) in the Beacon after a recent illness. 5th May 2026. Predeceased by his parents James and Margaret McCarthy (Canada).
Deeply loved and missed by his daughters Deirdre and Suzie, son in law Patrick, grandchildren Eric, Aoife, Hugh, Kaitlyn, Molly and Paddy. Sister, brother and sister-in-law Jim, Elizabeth and Jean (in Canada). As well as Deirdre and Suzie's mother Patricia, their siblings Claire, Ruth and Oisin and their children to whom he was also grandad John, Saoirse, Sophie, Lily, Michael, Aoibhe, Alanna and new baby Conor, as well as his loving sister-in-law Geraldine.
To his wonderful wide circle of friends, who provided so much support and comfort. Miles, Callie, Pat, Dave (deceased) Jackie, Aidan, Joe, Rita, Vinnie among many others who provided support, love and care over many years.
There are too many thank, but to name just a few, thank you to the staff in the Beacon, in particular Dr Rozana Rahman, Janet McDermott and the staff of ward 6, whose care and kindness was a great comfort, and John Boles of Boles Chemist Dolphins Barn who never failed to help.
