Pre-deceased by his wife Margaret in 2012, Gerry looked after himself independently until October 2024 thereafter supported at home, to the end by his family and his carer. Despite his dementia, Gerry never lost his personality, ever the man with a quick quip!

Gerry rejoiced in his family and his family rejoiced in Gerry. He will be sadly missed by his children Killian, Francis, Zita, Sylvia (Monségur, France), Bryanna (Ferns, Co. Wexford), Victor (Boise, USA), Niall (Atlanta, USA), Adrian (Atlanta, USA) and Quintin (Ballymacoda, Co. Passed away peacefully, February 5th 2026, with his family by his side, following the remarkable care of the doctors, nurses and staff at St. Vincent’s Hospital, minutes from his home. Predeceased by his sister Marguerite, and parents Patrick and Peggy.

Loved unfailingly by his wife Miriam, children James, Holly and Julia, sister Ann and brother John, daughter-in-law Sarah, son-in-law Victor, extended family, and an enormous circle of friends.

Devoted general practitioner to his patients in Sandymount and Irishtown.

‍ ‍

Funeral Mass will take place on Wednesday, 11th February at 11am at the Church of the Assumption, Booterstown A94 TR68, followed by cremation at 1pm in the Victorian Chapel at Mount Jerome Crematorium, Harold’s Cross, D6W HY98.
